Cat Brooker describes Robinson Hewes as “The Swiss Army Knife of Music.” He is a producer, engineer, multi-instrument musician, singer and songwriter. Hewes describes Brooker as a relentless lyricist. Brooker says, “If you take away the melody and the amazing guitar hooks, and all you have are the words on the page, do the song’s lyrics stand up on their own? That’s how I measure lyric writing.”   

The co-writing chemistry of Brooker and Hewes has spawned volumes of songs. They continue to write in multiple genres, for male and female artists alike. When you add Hewes’ studio skills to Brooker’s business acumen, a successful business partnership was certain to emerge. In 2021 they formed their music publishing company Brooker Hewes Music and their record label Shaggy Dog Records. Cat Brooker lives in Edmonton, Alberta, and Robinson Hewes lives a few minutes away in Sherwood Park.
